The Great Food Restaurant has been a Kingston favorite since it opened its doors in 1981. Back then we only offered artisanal bacon and egg breakfasts, usually served with Mimosa cocktails. Owner John Smith saw an opportunity to expand his high-end offerings and in 1990 The Great Food Restaurant started serving European style coffees and espresso-based drinks. These were a hit! Customers raved about our drink menu and now these hot drinks are served alongside favorites like fresh squeezed Florida orange juice and ice-cold Evian water.
John Smith continued his menu expansion through the 90s, eventually reaching the version you see today. Jump to our delicious menu. Even though people still come from near and far for our classic breakfast we are gaining a new audience with creative dishes like the monterey jack and Canadian aged cheddar cheese pizza with roma tomatoes imported from Italy and hand crumbled bacon bits locally sourced from the Kingston area.
"When I want to spoil myself I come here to get a hot americano and a salted caramel biscotti!"
